10for10 is a partnership with the Federal Government run by Barwon Child, Youth & Family (BCYF) and Volunteering Geelong.
10for10 is a pilot project that aims to support a small number of young people by increasing opportunities to develop stronger networks within the wider community, set goals and explore a range of workplaces, options and roles.
The young people are aged between 15 and 18 years old and may be facing challenges such as social exclusion, long term unemployment, homelessness and involvement in the Child Protection or Youth Justice system.
A Community Connector is a volunteer who can commit to offering 2 hours per fortnight to the young people. Community Connectors will have the opportunity to meet 1 to 1 with a number of different young people during their involvement in 10for10.
Activities are planned based on the Community Connector’s knowledge and connections and the young person’s interests and talents as well as their aspirations in terms of employment, education and training.
Register your interest in being a Community Connector by contacting Lucinda at Volunteering Geelong on 5221 1377.
Information sessions will be held at regular intervals for potential Community Connectors.
