MOVAIT - Intro to Management of Violence and Aggression International Training - Free - Tues 17 April
Too often we are faced with the realities of violence in our society through our work, what we read, hear and view through the media. Violence and Aggression in society is a fact of life and requires recognition as a factor that may influence, or alter our personal lives and work environment. Violence and Aggression in the work place has legal implications for any employer and requires management as we manage other aspects of our work.

This workshop has been designed with all members of organisations in mind. In this session we identify different conflict management styles and the barriers to good communication. Participants will also practice the use of questioning techniques to gather information, diffuse a situation and encourage parties 'in conflict' to explore options to resolve conflict before the matter escalates.
The National Standards for Volunteer Involvement are Australia's best practice road map for volunteering. This 3 hour interactive workshop provides an opportunity to become more familiar with the Standards, providing a background on how to utilise the National Standards as a benchmark for quality volunteer management.
Bite-Size Volunteering was developed by Volunteering Geelong to assist small to medium size community service organizations to complete tasks that they rarely have time, money or expertise to develop and implement.
This training provides a framework to access three potential groups of volunteers - Tertiary Students, Working Professionals and Skilled Retirees.
