Make a Real Difference — One Meal at a Time

At The Outpost, they believe in serving yummy food and homely vibes for awesome people. Every week, they provide healthy, hearty meals to individuals experiencing homelessness or hardship in our community.

They are urgently seeking Cooks and Cook’s Assistants to join the volunteer team and help prepare nutritious meals that bring comfort and dignity to up to 70 guests per day.

About the Role

✔️ Prepare and cook meals using donated ingredients
✔️ Chop, slice, mix, and follow recipes
✔️ Work in a supportive, team-based kitchen environment
✔️ No customer interaction – you’ll cook outside of opening hours
✔️ Help clean up and leave the kitchen as you found it

This role is perfect for parents, retirees, students — anyone with a love of cooking and a big heart.

Commitment

🕙 Tuesdays and/or Saturdays, 10:00am – 2:30pm (4.5 hours)
📅 Flexible — choose one or both days

What is provided

Training & Support: Instruction, guidance, and Food Safety Training (if needed)
Community: Work alongside like-minded volunteers in a warm, welcoming environment
Accessibility: Wheelchair accessible kitchen

What You’ll Need

• Reliability and basic cooking skills

• A team-player mindset

• Working With Children Check (help provided to arrange this)

• Own transport
