About Us

Helping deliver a better community for all through volunteering

Volunteering Geelong is an independent, not-for-profit organisation committed to promoting and supporting volunteering and the role of volunteers in the Geelong, Surf Coast and Otway regions.

Since 1998, we have worked with individuals, groups and organisations in our community to facilitate volunteering through:

  • Interviewing and training people interested in becoming a volunteer
  • Connecting people wishing to volunteer with other local not-for-profit groups and organisations looking for volunteer support
  • Supporting businesses and larger organisations seeking volunteer opportunities for staff development.
  • Coordinating specific volunteer program to help build confidence and skills of vulnerable people from our community.

As a volunteer resource centre, we also advocate the importance of volunteers and volunteering within our region. This region covers the municipalities of Greater Geelong, Golden Plains, Queenscliffe, Colac Otway and Surf Coast.

As part of this advocacy role, we coordinate the annual Geelong Volunteer of the Year Awards.

Our fundraising is coordinated through the Volunteering Geelong Community Foundation. The Foundation was established in 2019 to attract funding for volunteer services specifically directed at supporting the most vulnerable in our community to deliver a more equitable society.

Our Vision

To support a region where individuals feel motivated to volunteer, have the opportunity to contribute their time, skills and knowledge and are supported and encouraged to enjoy a rewarding volunteering experience.

Our Mission

As a leading provider of volunteering services, we will coordinate, promote, support & strengthen volunteering in our community to enhance the health and well-being for people within the region.
