Be part of something truly meaningful this Mother’s Day. The Mother’s Day Classic Foundation is calling for enthusiastic volunteers to help deliver the Geelong Mother’s Day Classic fun run and walk on Sunday, 10 May 2026.

Join a passionate community dedicated to raising vital funds for breast and ovarian cancer research, while helping create a safe, welcoming and inspiring event experience for participants of all ages.


About the Event

The Mother’s Day Classic is a nationally recognised event that has raised over $50.3 million for breast and ovarian cancer research. By volunteering, you’ll be supporting a powerful cause while contributing to a well-loved community tradition.


How You Can Help

As an on-the-day volunteer, your role may include:

  • Assisting with event set-up and pack-down

  • Supporting registrations, bag drop, or water stations

  • Guiding participants as a course marshal

  • Creating a positive, inclusive and energetic event-day atmosphere

  • Cheering on walkers and runners as they cross the finish line

No matter the role, your contribution will make a real difference.

Volunteer Details

  • Date: Sunday, 10 May 2026 (Mother’s Day)

  • Time Commitment: 3–7 hour shifts, depending on the role and your availability

  • Type of Work: Fundraising & Events

  • Suitable For:

    • Groups of 10 or more

    • Families with children

    • Skilled volunteers

    • Young adults (18–24)

Please note: Some volunteer roles may require a valid Working With Children Check.


What You’ll Need

  • Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team

Training & Support

Full support is provided by the Mother’s Day Classic Foundation. All volunteers will receive:

  • A detailed Volunteer Handbook

  • Access to an online webinar with the Event Manager outlining roles and expectations

  • On-the-day support from the Event Manager and Volunteer Coordinator
