General Warehouse Volunteers: Help Feed & Support Our Community!

Are you looking for a rewarding way to give back while staying active? Geelong Food Share are currently seeking dedicated General Warehouse Volunteers to join their North Geelong team.

In this role, you’ll work alongside a friendly, team-oriented crew to process received goods and prepare them for dispatch. It’s the perfect opportunity for those who want to make a tangible difference in the lives of fellow community members while enjoying a social and supportive workplace.

What You’ll Be Doing

As a vital part of their warehouse operations, your tasks would include:

  • Food Processing: Sorting fresh produce (fruit, veg, eggs, and bakery items) and packaging/labelling goods for the community.

  • Supermarket Support: Maintaining the fruit and vegetable displays in our social supermarket.

  • Inventory Care: Stock rotation of dry goods and assisting with receiving and dispatching items.

  • General Upkeep: Helping with warehouse cleaning and other tasks as directed by the supervisor.

  • Safety First: Following OH&S guidelines to ensure a safe environment for everyone.

Is This Role Right For You?

They are looking for team players who are physically able to work on their feet and handle some heavy lifting. This position is a fantastic fit for:

  • Centrelink Volunteers (meets mutual obligation requirements).

  • People Learning English looking for a conversational environment.

  • People with Disability or Skilled Volunteers wanting to contribute their expertise.

Commitment & Training

  • Time: Shifts are available Monday to Friday, 8:00 am – 4:00 pm (full or half shifts available).

  • Commitment: They are looking for regular support for 6 months or more.

  • Support: You will receive a full orientation and ongoing support from our agency team.

Requirements

  • Ability to perform physical duties and heavy lifting.

  • A current National Police Certificate (or willingness to obtain one).

  • A current Working with Children Check.
