Training
Volunteering offers many benefits beyond giving back to the community, including the opportunity to build new skills and gain valuable experience.

Training for Volunteers
At Volunteering Geelong, we know that volunteering is not only about giving back, it’s also an opportunity to grow. Through volunteering, you can build valuable skills like teamwork, communication, and leadership, while gaining real-world experience that boosts confidence and expands your networks.
We support volunteers to access training by connecting you with local community organisations across the Greater Geelong region that offer learning and development opportunities.
We’re also working towards developing our own volunteer onboarding workshop to help you feel confident, prepared, and ready to get started in your role.
In the meantime, training and professional development opportunities are available through our peak body, Volunteering Victoria, including a range of workshops and resources to support your volunteering journey.
Classes & Workshops for Volunteers
The following training sessions are provided through our customised training program, and are generally organised by local councils and
not-for-profit organisations. If you would like to make an enquiry, please complete our Tailored Training Enquiry Form.
